Blind Buddy Read

Read with a mystery reader

These books are perfect for reading together. The story raises questions, encourages reflection, and often lingers in your mind long after you’ve closed the book. That’s exactly why it’s interesting not just to experience it on your own, but to share it with someone else. What stood out to both of you? Where did your opinions differ? With Blind Buddy Read, you each read this book at your own pace, but you add a little more depth afterward by discussing it together without being tied to a book club or fixed schedules.

Current Buddy Read books:

Romance: Life Number Nine – Joep Heap

Literary/Genral Fiction: Mayflies – Andrew O’Hagan

Classics: Zen and the Art of Motorcycling Maintenance

Fantasy: The Justice of Kings – Richard Swan

Sci-fi: Annihilition – Jeff VanderMeer

How it works

  1. Sign up
    Fill in your details below.
  2. We’ll pair you with a buddy
Once we have enough participants, we’ll pair you with someone reading the same book based on your reading experience within the genre. We’ll let you know as soon as your match is found. Pick a time that works best for you to meet up. That will motivate you to finish the book.
  3. Start reading
You both read at your own pace, without contacting each other beforehand. Do not forget to keep the CAWPILE review system in mind; that’ll be your gide at the meet-up.
  4. Halfway through? Let us know
When you’re about halfway through, let us know. We’ll let your buddy know that you’re halfway through (and vice versa).
  5. Finished the book? Let us know!
Once you’ve finished the book, let us know. We’ll keep your buddy updated on your progress.
  6. Time to meet up
As soon as you’re both finished, it is time to meet up! You’ll both get a drink from us 😉
